I am a person who is passionate about encouraging others and providing well informed personal and professional guidance.  My undergraduate degree from Rutgers University is in Environmental Economics and Business.  Here I developed an interest in economic sustainability and climate change.  Post undergraduate studies I worked security in emergency services where my desire to protect and support others first found a professional outlet.  I continued on my path of public service as an Army Infantry Officer where I worked within and outside of my trained specialty.  I was regularly tasked with making decisions that ethically took disciplined initiative to support mission requirements.  Here I learned about the importance of self-improvement to better respond to operational uncertainty and mentoring others.  I also developed an appreciation for building cultures founded on transparency, which allowed for easy cross-disciplinary collaboration.  After completing my Army service obligation in 2023, I decided to continue my education at Rutgers by pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Administration concentrating in Budgeting and Financial Management.  I felt Rutgers SPAA would provide me with a pathway to prove that my prior leadership skills are valuable in the public sector.  Also, SPAA would teach me specialized tools to employ upon graduation.  During my time at Rutgers, I worked as an offshore energy program analyst for the Department of Interior and program coordinator for Rutgers Climate and Energy Institute.  Both experiences contributed to my desire to support US energy independence that takes strategic considerations to long run sustainability risks.
